Description of services:

Home Before the Independence of Rwanda laws on Employment were not yet established. After that period, when the Country was independent, changes occurred and laws on employees in Governmental Institutions appeared. Before 1973, the Ministry of Public Service and Labour did not exist whereby coordination of all about Labour and Public Service were in the hands of other Ministries. MINISTRIES IN CHARGE OF PUBLIC SERVICE 1961-1973 1961-1963: Ministry of Local Government 1963-1964: Ministry of Finance 1965-1965: Ministry of Information and Tourism 1965-1968: Ministry of Local Government and Public Service MINISTRIES IN CHARGE OF LABOUR 1961-1973 1961: Ministry of Public Welfare 1961: Ministry of Education and Public Welfare 1961: Ministry of Public Welfare 1962: Ministry of Public Welfare and Information !963: Ministry of Local Government and Public Welfare 1964: Ministry of Local Government 1965: Ministry of Family and Integrated Development 1973: Ministry of Health and Public Welfare In 1975, Labour and Public Service were coordinated in the same Ministry whereby it got its name Ministry of Public Service and Labour. In 1984, the Ministry changed its name and became Ministry of Public Service and Traning to foster workers trainings. In 1992, the coordination of Public Workers Trainings was shifted to the Ministry of Labour and Public Welfare. On 28 May 1997, the coordination of Labour returned back to the Ministry of Public Service and regained the name of <93>Ministry of Public Service and Labour with the following responsibilities: <d8> Find and recruit competent employees in Public Institutions; <d8> Initiate strategies to promote work in private sector; <d8> Training workers in Public and private; <d8> Strategies to increase productivity and fight for Employees benefits; <d8> Update laws on Employees and Labour; <d8> To set up new politics on salaries and Employees Welfare; <d8> Training and reintegrating Employees from the exile.
